Impressive showcase of “Tamim -al –Majd” at THE TORCH DOHA…

THE TORCH DOHA demonstrates its ongoing support and solidarity with the State of Qatar by displaying daily, rotating on its exterior, the iconic image of His Highness Shk. Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani The Emir of Qatar. The portrait is widely known by its name as ‘Tamim -al -Majd’

Currently the tallest building in Doha since 2007, soaring 300 meters with 360° panoramic views across the city, the iconic hotel has an exterior of 2,624 LED lights that bring the building to life after sunset. It is this time that the famous portrait of His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, designed by artist Ahmed Bin Majed Al Maadheed, appears on the façade of the imposing structure.

THE TORCH DOHA, a true masterpiece of Qatari engineering, represents the magnitude of the country and is the perfect medium to display such a significant message. As it has done numerous times in the past, the hotel uses its enormous virtual canvas in order to support a cause or to promote an important message. This time, the demonstration of ‘Tamim -al -Majd’ at such a scale, reflects the loyalty and the solidarity to the leadership and to the country. The virtual rotating portrait is the biggest so far in Qatar to be publicly showcased and can be seen from a distance of over 3km.

“The portrait has become the face of Qatari unity during the ongoing economic blockade. Its presence on our exterior marks a very proud moment for us, representing our support to the nation. The response this virtual display has on the public is remarkable, as we daily receive a great number of photos from our guests and the city’s residents. Such a significant show of support is truly inspiring to see” says General Manager, Sherif Sabry.

‘Tamim -al -Majd’ portrait will continue to light the night sky of Doha every night and will be available for everyone to admire until midnight. The initiative is expected to draw a large number of audience and photography enthusiasts as it can be seen from 360° angles.
