Thailand (November 2nd, 2013) – THE TORCH DOHA has been recognized as the Global winner in the “Luxury Rooftop View Hotel” category at the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2013.
World Luxury Hotel Awards events offer hoteliers with a unique opportunity to savour and celebrate their achievements of the past year with their industry peers.
Covered by France24 the World Luxury Hotel Award’s official media partner, the event included a 6 course Gala Dinner followed by top entertainment and presentation of coveted Awards.
World Luxury Hotel Awards 2013 welcomed some of the world’s top hoteliers & leading decision-makers. The spotlight was turned on some of the world’s most sought after hotels, lodges and resorts as they arrived in great anticipation to pick-up their recognition.
Hotels where recognized on a country, continent and global basis and Awards were presented to hotels and hotel groups from Australia to Zambia complimenting leading hotel groups.
Award winners raised the bar of service delivery within the industry ever since as some of the world’s top hotels. Over 1,000 hotels from 87 countries were nominated to participate in the world’s most prestigious Awards initiative for luxury hotels in 2013.
THE TORCH DOHA competed against a number of hotels and resorts from all over the world to receive this recognition. The award has been announced last night at a high-profile gala dinner and awards ceremony at Indigo Pearl Resort Phuket, Thailand.
THE TORCH DOHA – member of Leading Hotels of the World, is the flagship project situated at the heart of Doha’s Sports City, Aspire Zone. The 5-star luxury hotel opened its doors to visitors in November 2011.
Situated at 300m high and with 360° panoramic views across Doha, the hotel is the result of comprehensive architectural, engineering and technical design, formerly shaped to represent a colossal torch which for the duration of the 15th Asian Games in 2006 held its symbolic flame, the highest flame in the history of the games.
